Plus spécialement une Graminée : Oryza longistaminata A. Chev.et Roehr (Poaceae), espèce très voisine du riz cultivé ; et diverses Cyperaceae. Voir jamana. Le sarclage des mauvaises herbes dans les rizières tire son nom de cette espèce. On l'appelle asa-jama ( asa : travail). Sens figuré : travail qui n'a pas de fin. Dans l'Est, on prononce plutôt : zama ou zamana. [1.196]
