A l'époque où les paiements se faisaient en poudre d'argent et en fragments de piastres coupées, le poids d'une de ces graines représentait la 72è partie de la piastre ; d'où le nom d'eranambatry donné à cette division. Ces graines peuvent êtres cuisinées fraîches, comme les petits pois ; elles sont excellentes. On peut aussi les faire sécher et les consommer après cuisson comme les poids secs. [Betsileo]
