 Nom de certaines plantes plus spécialement recherchées pour faire des balais. Ce sont particulièrement, suivant les dialectes :
[Bara, Betsileo, Merina] Henonia scoparia Moq. (Amaranthaceae). Cet arbuste servait aussi à préparer une teinture verte (Grandidier, Ethnographie). Son infusion est administrée aux boeufs, comme odi-tsingala ; on pense que les boeufs peuvent devenir malades parce qu'ils avalaient par inadvertance en s'abreuvant un insecte aquatique, le tsingala. En réalité c'est surtout en cas de météorisation qu'on applique ce traitement.
