 An osier; a shrub, the leaves of which are used as a substitute for tea, also as a medicine for gonorrhea. By the Betsileo it is used for sprains or dislocations, the leaves being boiled and applied locally. It is also used by them for sores or wounds, the stem being scraped on the sore. Aphloia theaeformis, Benn. Same as voafotsy [1.2]

(Aphloiaceae) - le hompy, Maytenus fasciculata (Tul.) Loes. (Celastraceae) Le principal sortilège contre lequel on utilise le fandramanana est le fehitratra, l'un des philtres d'amour malgaches (voir fehitratra). On donne aussi le nom de fandramanana à un philtre d'amour ( odi-fitia). [1.196]
