9 [1.3] grand champignon 10 [1.196] (de holatra (2) et tafa: conversation sans portée, caquetage; ce gros champignon, commun autour des cases ne manque pas d'exciter la curiosité des enfants). Son nom est déjà mentionné par Chapel. (1803). Lentinus tuber-regium Fr. (Polyporaceae), appelé pompeusement « truffe des rois » en raison de son gros sclérote, mais ce dernier, spongieux et fadasse, n'a rien à voir avec la véritable truffe. Les Malgaches lui attribuent de grandes vertus magico-médicinales. Il entre notamment dans la composition d'un odi-baratra ou remède contre la frayeur qu'inspire la foudre, et d'un odi-fady qu'il faut absorber quand on a transgressé un fady, un interdit rituel.
