[Betsimisaraka] Nom malgache relevé anciennement par Rochon (p. 313 de son Voyage aux Indes), avec l'orthographe fantaisiste « Vuendrang ». C'est surtout Cyperus latifolius Poir. (Cyperaceae) qui est ainsi nommée dans cette région. [Betsileo, Merina] Scleria griegifolia (Ridl.) C.B.Clarke (Cyperaceae). Le nom malgache est généralement prononcé vendragna dans le Betsileo. Signalé par Dubois, etc. [Sihanaka] Surtout Cyperus latifolius var. herana (Cherm.) Cherm. ; Voir aussi herana. Malzac écrit seulement « Petit jonc, herbe aquatique ».
